Comparison of two types of mechanical assistance in experimental heart failure.

چکیده
V ARIOUS forms of mechanical assistance are now being used clinically in attempts to alleviate acute heart failure." However, the physiologic effects of each type of assisted circulation upon the various decompensation syndromes are not well known and the results of their application in human patients have not been evaluated. The multiple measurements needed and the critical condition of the patients usually preclude adequate monitoring of physiologic variables during these therapeutic procedures. The influence of mechanical assistance procedures on cardiac failure states should therefore be investigated under conditions which permit continuous observations of all important indices of cardiac function. Data reported here describe experiments in which 7 different types of cardiac failure were produced in dogs and where each type of decompensation was treated with 2 forms of mechanical assistance.

Comparison of the Effect of Two Teach-Back Training and Pictorial Training Methods on Medication Adherence in Heart Failure Patients
Background & Aim: Medicinal nonadherence prevents the achievement of therapeutic goals in cardiovascular patients. Training is essential to increase medicinal adherence. Therefore, the present study compared the effect of two teach-back and pictorial training methods on the medication adherence in heart failure patients. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was performed on 210 heart failure...
متن کاملThe Effect of Partnership Care Model on Depression and Anxiety in the Patients with Heart Failure
Background: Depression and anxiety are highly prevalent in heart failure patients and has been associated with adverse prognosis, reduced functional ability and greater use of health care resources. Aim: To determine the effect of using partnership care model on anxiety and depression in heart failure patients. Method: This clinical trial was conducted as quasi-experimental design on 90 patient...
متن کاملVASODILATOR EFFECTS OF THE β -AGONIST ISOPRENALINE IN AN EXPERIMENTAL MODEL OF HEART FAILURE
Heart failure is a clinical syndrome characterized by the inability of the heart to provide nutrient supply to tissues. In 75% of cases, the underlying pathology causing heart failure in patients with cardiac death is coronary heart disease. A rabbit model of heart failure with coronary ligation was produced to mimic coronary heart disease in humans. After producing the model, two arteries ...
متن کاملMechanical circulatory support for end-stage heart failure.
Mechanical circulatory assistance has become a frequent therapeutic option for patients with advanced heart failure. For patients with acute cardiogenic shock and impaired organ function, short-term assistance with venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation is the leading therapeutic option. It enables a "bridge to decision-making" i.e. withdrawal of the device after myocardial recovery o...
متن کاملFailure Procedure in Adhesive Composite Joints under Different Types of Loading
In this paper, we have used numerical simulation to study failure of adhesive joints in composite plates. To determine the failure load, adhesive joints are subjected to different types of loading and gradual failure of the joint is studied using the finite element method. The composite material failure theory is implemented into the FEM software. Also different geometries for the joint edge ar...
